Self-reflection CEP

The CLPNS is excited to share the brand-new Self-Reflection Module, designed to support the professional growth of LPNs.

16 Formal CEP activity hours are awarded when an LPN completes steps A – D of the self-reflection module. Alternatively, if the entire module is completed (steps A – D, plus related/supporting education), an LPN is awarded 24 Formal CEP activity hours. (View the tutorial here.)

Self-reflection is thoughtfully considering one’s experiences, actions, and decisions. While we all naturally engage in it, self-reflection holds a different meaning in nursing. It serves as a fundamental tool for learning, professional growth, and upholding the professional standards of practice.

In nursing practice, self-reflection requires LPNs to assess and identify aspects of their work that worked well, what could be improved, and what steps they might take moving forward if presented with a similar situation. Self-reflection is valuable for developing understanding, refining decision-making, and advancing LPN skills. LPNs who engage in self-reflection will build on their strengths, identify potential areas of growth, and, as a result, enhance their overall competence.

The module aligns with the Continuing Education Portfolio (CEP) Program by encouraging LPNs to select education that maintains and supports their professional development while enhancing their nursing practice.

No two journeys of self-reflection look the same, and that’s okay! LPNs should strive to dedicate time each week to evaluating their nursing practice and experiences and setting goals for continued success. Even if an LPN does not choose to participate in the CLPNS’s formal Self-Reflection Module for CEP activity hours, it’s a highly encouraged practice in their everyday practice.

Pre-Authorized Payment

The Pre-Authorized Plan (PPP) is a pre-payment option allowing LPNs to pay their licensure renewal fee in advance, directly from their bank account. Enrolling in the program avoids having a large lump sum payment near the end of the year.
